Other Links & Stuff

Here is where I'll put humor links, political links, or just anything I find interesting or even disgusting. Once in a while the studio may be selling some recording gear or musical instruments and you will also find them listed on this page. You never know what will end up on this page. Some of the views put forth are not necessarily the views of Blairnt Central but for informational or entertainment purposes only.

Stuff for trade or sale

This is an Ibanez replica of a Rickenbacker 4001 bass. As near as I can tell from research this is a 1973 or 1974 it is very hard to tell because serial numbering did not start until 1975 and this is pre serial number. I believe this is a model 2388B/S. This is a bolt on neck. The bass plays very well and is in great physical condition for a bass that is over 35 years old. It has a few nicks in the paint as you can see from the photos but zero belt rash and the finish is very nice. I've used the bass in the studio only and it has been re wired and once had active electronics, it now is wired just straight passive with only a switch to toggle the pickups. I can only find one of the original knobs so far but the others may turn up. It is missing the chrome cover that used to go over the top of the bridge pickup and the finger rest. People used to take both of these items off. The bridge pickup has been replaced over the years with a much better sounding jazz bass pickup and I do not have the original pickup. If someone is interested in a trade I'll have the wiring re done. I would like to trade this for an SG, Les Paul or any other offer that sounds interesting. I am not in a hurry to get rid of this as it really is a great playing bass but I'm not a bass player per say and it ends up sitting around in my studio more then it ends up getting played and it kind of seems a shame so please no low ball offers or epiphones please. No pitting on the chrome.

1973 Gibson SB-450 Vintage Bass

This is a Vintage 1973 Gibson sb-450 electric bass. This bass is extremely rare and next to impossible to find. As far as I can tell during 1973 only about 237 of these basses were shipped from Gibson with less then 1000 built in total. This instrument has a set maple neck, natural alder body, and a rosewood fret board, humbucking pickups, full scale neck  with all original hardware. This was the first year Gibson started using the three anchor bridge that is still in use today. The bass has the expected amount of wear that you would normally find in an instrument of this year with a few belt buckle marks on back, some wear in the finish on the front and some small dings here and there which I show on the photos. Serial number 177185. I will consider trading for an electric guitar: les paul, sg, Ibanez artist pro. model, etc.
